Serious injury

For (sad) memory, Kendji Girac was hospitalized on April 22 for a serious gunshot wound to the chest. According to analyses, he was heavily drunk and had consumed cocaine during a night of partying, during which he had notably gone to the casino with friends.

The winner of the 2014 edition of “The Voice” initially claimed to have wanted to “simulate a suicide” after a domestic dispute, but then changed his version, and the procedure was dismissed.

“I apologized at length to my family and my team who have supported me since day one but I wanted, on this special day that changed my life, (to) apologize to all of you because I know the pain and the worry I may have caused you,” he wrote last May. “I am treating myself, I am resting to come back even stronger thanks to you and I want to leave this period of my life behind me,” he continued.

“I am very moved to announce that I am finally back, I missed it,” he said in a video posted at the end of August on Instagram, on the occasion of the release of the single “If only. ..”, a song written with Vianney. “I took the time to work on a beautiful song, to look deep in my heart, to want to say what I wanted to say, from the depths of my soul,” added the singer. “Andalusian”.

“If only I had known how to tell you/without having to write it on my skin/If only I had known how to tell you/without the fear of ruining the photo. If only I had known how to really tell you. If only I had known how to tell you before,” sings Kendji, in what may sound like a reference to his addiction problems and his injury. The singer now assures him, the time has officially come to heal his wounds with his audience, and to turn the page to start a better life.
