“I am creating the space that is due to me and no one can take it away from me”, Djebril Slatni (Star Academy): his poignant announcement

It’s his turn to shine solo. It was eagerly awaited: the single by Djebril, candidate of the last season of the Star Academy, comes out this Friday, October 4. From midnight, the title Privilèges will be available on all streaming platforms.

On the social network X, Djebril Slatni published several messages a few hours before the release. “JI’m so excited for you to discover this title which says a lot about the reality of things.” he wrote in a first message.

“Behind this title hides months of work, reflection, learning as a completely independent artist, questioning and taking steps to highlight work that prioritizes art and purpose above all!” continues Djebril, in a second tweet.

“Everything I have built is the result of constant struggles to achieve the goals I have set for myself. I was often seen as an extension of someone else, an extra element. I am creating the space that is due to me and no one is going to take it away from me. One day I will look back and see how much I accomplished to get here. On that day, my voice will be heard and people will remember that this was just the beginning. In the meantime, what I can tell you is that Djebril Slatni has arrived!” proclaims the young man.

A clear message which seems closely linked to his adventure within the Star Academy. But also, when he spoke on his Instagram account last June, the day after the concert at the Accor Arena in Paris.

As a reminder, Djebril emptied his bag the day after the concert was broadcast on TF1. His post caused a lot of noise. And for good reason: the singer spoke of discrimination, exclusion or even inequalities. “The end of a great adventure with ups and downs.“

Without going into details, Djebril gave an overview of what he called “bas“. “I am relieved to end this cycle of exposure and its share of discrimination, exclusion and unequal treatment. And no, not all artists are in the same boat, nor are all people in the same boat.. Regardless, I welcome this ending with great serenity.” he declared.

A speech supported by all of his classmates, in particular by Axel and Candice who spoke half-heartedly of having experienced similar things during the adventure in the castle.
