Vicky Krieps, “Gaspard Ulliel’s soul mate”, has shaved her head: a look revealed with confidence

Born in Luxembourg, 40-year-old Vicky Krieps made her mark on the international scene with memorable roles in films such as Phantom Thread et Corsage. Her career took a decisive turn with Paul Thomas Anderson, who revealed her to the general public. Over the years, she has collaborated with renowned directors and has navigated between Belgian, German and French cinema. In 2023, she appeared in The Three Musketeerswhere she plays Anne of Austria alongside stars like François Civil and Eva Green.

A radical hair change

Pour his new film project, Love Me TenderVicky Krieps made the bold choice to shave her head. This transformation, inspired by the character she plays, shows her ability to fully commit to her roles. The film is an adaptation of the bestselling book by Constance Debré, which tells the story of a mother rediscovering her identity and her homosexuality after leaving her past behind. Directed by Anna Cazenave Cambet, the film promises to tackle strong and moving themes, with a cast made up of talented actors like Antoine Reinartz and Mona Chokri.

Vicky Krieps shared her new look on Instagram. She shaved her hair, adopting a Charlize Theron style in Furiosa. In her post, she wrote: “It’s me, attending a fashion show in Milan with no hair and no makeup, incognito amid animals and madness. On my way to work, where I have the honor of being in @princess_annatole’s next film! In an adaptation of this incredible book Love Me Tender by Constance Debré. You just have to wait and see…”

Indelible memories with Gaspard Ulliel

Vicky Krieps had shared a special relationship with actor Gaspard Ulliel, who tragically lost his life in January 2022. Considered his soul mate, Gaspard marked Vicky’s life, particularly during the filming of More than everwhere they lived for around forty together in Norway. In interviews, she had expressed how lively and passionate he was, sharing many adventures with him:“We were a bit like soul mates, we didn’t fit into prefabricated boxes, we were beyond them. We had a more complex way of seeing life. We can’t always explain things, but we can live them“.
