This is one of the big new features announced by NRJ for its new season. Monday, during a somewhat late back-to-school conference, the group was proud to welcome Camille Combal. The latter makes his comeback on the radio for a few weeks, taking over Cauet’s time slot.

On the evening of Monday September 30, Jean-Paul Baudecroux, the director of NRJ group organized a back-to-school conference at the Grand Rex in Paris with its advertising clients and the press. The goal was to share in broad daylight the latest news brought for this season, both on television and radio.
The biggest announcement mainly concerned the recruitment of a big star. Indeed, the music station managed to bring in Camille Combal after several months of negotiations. The figure of TF1 will present a new show, Drive, “in events” as indicated. Camille Combal will not be lost in the NRJ premises since he has already co-hosted the 6/9 from 2006 to 2008. His arrival will fill the void left by Sébastien Cauet since November 2023.
Cauet sued but allowed to return to radio
Because it must be remembered that Cauet, former star host of NRJ, was removed from the air following complaints filed against him. He was first accused of raping a 16-year-old minor. Legal actions which resulted in the opening of a preliminary investigation for “rape of a minor over 15 years old” and “rape”.
Cauet has always denied the facts with which he is accused, but despite everything, he was indicted for rape and sexual assault. At the same time, the investigating chamber of the Paris Court of Appeal prohibited him from returning to the NRJ studios. A decision that Sébastien Cauet had countered through his lawyers. And finally, in July, relief from judicial review was granted to him.
“Justice agreed to partially ease the judicial control of the former NRJ star, which prohibited him from being a radio host“, reported the host’s lawyer, Jade Dousselin. “This is a first victory in this matter. She is important. Justice recognizes that nothing justifies silencing a man presumed innocent.“Cauet can therefore become a radio presenter again, if a station gives him the opportunity.
Sébastien Cauet remains presumed innocent of the facts with which he is accused until the conclusion of the investigation.
