Mariana Mazza settles her scores on Tout le monde en talk after being criticized for her literary show

Mariana Mazza was on the set of Tout le monde en parole, Sunday evening, to talk about her book Rivière-des-Prairies. True to form, the young woman was a golden guest who answered straightforwardly and with the panache she is known for, to questions from Guy A. Lepage and his co-host of the day, MC Gilles.

The comedian and author has enjoyed incredible success in these two spheres of her professional life. In addition to being one of the most popular and successful comedians of her generation, she has also revealed herself in recent years as one of the best ambassadors of literature in Quebec.

Her first book, Montréal-, sold more than 25,000 copies and her literary columns in Bonsoir Bonsoir introduced us to a lover of reading who loves to highlight her favorite books and – above all – who manages to give others a taste for reading.

It is also with a huge FINALLY! that we learned a few weeks ago that the young woman was going to host a literary show on ICI ARTV.

But not everyone had the same reaction and the cultural columnist of La Presse Mario Girard published a very critical text on this subject affirming, among other things, that it would have been necessary to have a presenter “ worthy of the name.

Questioned on the subject at Tout le monde en talks, Sunday evening, the young woman seemed visibly affected by the La Presse article, but she was able to set the record straight.

“I find it sad that people complain that there is no cultural program on television and that when someone does, we are already criticizing them before even having the chance to see a second one. »

Obviously unaware of the controversy in question, Gildor Roy, also on the set, then asked what Mariana was being accused of.

“I was criticized that I was perhaps not a worthy presenter to host this. »

“OK, but you sold 25,000 copies of your f*cking book, for example,” retorted the actor who was visibly Team Mariana!»

“What I think is a shame,” the young woman continued, “is to judge before having seen. And above all, it’s still the best formula. When we talk about a literary show, it’s not appealing. But when you take a popular comedian, who is passionate about literature, who is brilliant… when you take all that, you put it together and it can’t give anything other than passion. »
