Diane Tell inducted into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame

Diane Tell, Tom Cochrane, Sarah McLachlan and two members of Blue Rodeo will be inducted into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame on Saturday evening.

The celebration of Canada’s most influential songwriters will honor Jim Cuddy and Greg Keelor ​​of the rock band Blue Rodeo, as well as singer Diane Tell in a musical celebration at Toronto’s Massey Hall.

Nelly Furtado will induct Sarah McLachlan during the ceremony and join her for an unannounced performance that organizers have kept secret.

Gary LeVox of Rascal Flatts will pay tribute to Life Is A Highway by Tom Cochrane, the hit song that got a second life when his Nashville band recorded it for the Pixar film soundtrack THE Cars.

All five inductees are expected to perform on stage, in addition to musical covers by Metric, Lights and Tenille Townes.

The evening will be hosted by the well-known Quebec singer Marie-Mai. For the first time, Amazon Music will broadcast the event live on its Twitch channel.
