Florent Pagny: What is this treatment that he prescribes himself and which is not yet authorized in France?

Florent Pagny is notably back in the spotlight, with his return as a coach in The Voice 2025. For the occasion, he notably granted an interview, without filter as is his habit, to Laurent Karila for his podcast AddictionHe did not escape questions about the lung cancer he suffered from.

“My health is fine“, he assured. However, Florent Pagny is still being closely monitored because he knows that the disease can return. It is also “returned twice after the first” as he recalled. Azucena’s husband then recalled the day he was told he had cancer: “The day I receive the information, as long as I don’t have more information, I have a bit of doubt for a moment, I don’t know what I really have. The next day I have a scan, and I have in front of me an interlocutor who gives me three pieces of news and I say to myself ‘ok, it’s doable’, so I’m not stressed.“

Florent Pagny improvises as a doctor…

In order to deal with the side effects of his treatment, Florent Pagny chose to turn to Chinese medicine: “This is the one that gives me the most satisfaction for everything that can be related to it and because of the treatments. Since they are plants, it’s not bad, and so I found a good doctor. (…) It’s natural medicine, we’re not taking medication, we take capsules with plants in them. Plants have always done me good” he continued.

But there is one prescription that the 62-year-old singer made for himself. After recalling that he had stopped cannabis because he coughed too much, he revealed the solution he found to fill his gap: “It was precisely the feeling of THC that I was starting to miss. That’s why I evolved with the capsules. And you go get the oil and absorb it instead of smoking. It’s harder to manage, but it’s not a bad thing. I am the one who prescribed it to myself. I am the doctor, because I am the patient. At certain times, I found myself faced with a real problem related to an illness.e. I knew that in other countries it was practiced and used and that they had good results. In France, I was kindly explained that studies were starting.“
