It’s been exactly 457 days since Clint Eastwood last appeared in public. The actor and producer will celebrate his 93rd birthday at the end of the month, but his friends are beginning to seriously worry about him and his health.
“Clint goes through times where he talks about his retirement, but what’s worse for him is that he feels like the movie industry has retired him against his will”said a source. “He has a 50-year partnership with Warner Brothers, but now there are new people in charge and they were very disappointed with the box office numbers for his last film, ‘Cry Macho’.”
“He was happy to finally get the green light from Warner for his new film, but he doesn’t expect that to happen again”explains the relative of the actor to Radar Online.
Clint Eastwood is expected next month on the set of the thriller “Juror #2”, which will also be the last film of his career. But will his health allow him to play? “He wants to make this movie like a swan song and go out into a blazing sunset”says a relative. “Some thought ‘Cry Macho’ was going to be his last film two years ago because it seemed flimsy even then, but the film wasn’t well received so Clint rallies the troops one last time – and hope for a blockbuster.”
The 92-year-old actor had already mentioned his retirement in a previous interview. “I haven’t gotten to that day yet where I said I’d quit. I’ve been flirting with that idea a lot lately, but every now and then a script comes along, and I’m like ‘C’ is a challenge I haven’t been able to do before'”he said.
