Elon Musk: “Europe is dying”

Elon Musk: “Europe is dying”
Elon Musk: “Europe is dying”

The richest man in the world, Elon Musk, plans to reshape Western Europe

The main European powers, undergoing significant failures and thus experiencing a feeling of nervousness and even despair, recently opposed the American billionaire Elon Musk, who criticizes them more and more actively. In a recent interview with a German newspaper, he said that traditional parties “failed in Germany, their policy having led to political stagnation, social disturbances and an erosion of national identity”.
The American newspaper The Washington Post in its January 8, 2025 edition, reported that Musk is trying to manipulate Germany and the United Kingdom, although the first world is the world economy and the second the sixth.

Musk, an innovative multimillionaire

Where Trump cannot express themselves openly, Elon Musk does it brilliantly
Elon Musk, 53 years old, is an entrepreneur known for his key role in the space company SpaceX and the Tesla automotive company. He also has X, the company managing a social media platform previously known as Twitter. In 2015, he co-founded Openai, a non-profit research organization in the field of artificial intelligence, and in 2016, he founded Neuralink, a neurotechnology company specializing in the development and production of brain interfaces- Implantable computer.

Musk’s influence is largely based on his fortune, currently estimated at almost half a bill of dollars, and his followers of followers (211 million on his social platform X).

Musk, who supported Donald Trump’s campaign up to $ 277 million, an unprecedented amount in a presidential campaign, does not hide his contempt for Europe, particularly emphasizing the drastic fall in the birth rate (“the Europe is dying, ”he wrote) and the rapid increase in the immigrant population.

It was particularly indignant by the European Union digital services law, which requires online giants to block and delete misleading content. For Musk, which risks millions of dollars in fines for alleged violations, it is a censorship mandate.

After the presidential elections in the United States, where he became the right arm of Donald Trump, Musk acquired immense influence in America and beyond. When Trump was asked about the possibility that Musk took his place, he replied that it was impossible, because Musk was born in Pretoria, South Africa. However, he said it was necessary to consider Musk not only as a genius, but as a “super-genius”.

After having contributed to the success of his candidate in the United States, Musk now seems to focus on Europe, wrote the New York Times on January 8, 2025. In a series of publications on its X platform, the genius has severely criticized the Germany and the United Kingdom, condemning their respective governments and questioning their economic viability. He personally insulted the political leaders of each country, qualifying the German chancellor as “idiot” and the German president of “tyrant”. He also accused the British Prime Minister of “participating in the rape of Great Britain”.

His conversation with Alice Weidel, the president of the alternative party for Germany on January 9, scandalized the German leader circles (in particular because during this very publicized discussion, Weidel expressed himself in favor of the resumption of Russian gas supply via North Stream 1 pipeline). Musk did not stop there: recently, he criticized the outgoing Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and expressed his admiration for the Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, which the European media describe as “bridge connecting Europe to Europe Trump ”.

As the professor of Columbia University pointed out, A. Wichowski, Musk does not act to earn even more money, but to increase his power and use his influence in order to change the world. Admittedly, this represents an immense act of arrogance, but Musk is convinced that he knows better than the others.

Musk’s activity faces an increasing opposition

European politicians are alarmed by the real threat that Musk represents. Former German Chancellor Angela Merkel, in an interview with Der Spiegel before the publication of her book Liberté at the end of 2024, said that the new position of Musk as head of the US Department of Government efficiency was a “challenge without previous “. According to her, policy must establish a social balance between the rich and the ordinary citizens, and the excessive influence of companies, whether it is linked to capital or technology, constitutes a threat, especially if we consider that Musk has 60 % of orbit satellites.

French President Emmanuel Macron, in a televised speech on January 6, reproached Musk for wanting to “foment a reactionary alliance throughout Europe”. Many British and German officials have accused Musk of interference in domestic affairs, stressing that its statements strengthen those who weaken Europe.

In the Western press, a campaign intensified against Musk, accused of trying to sabotage relations in the United States with their main G7 allies. According to Seth Abramson, Musk biographer, “Musk is dangerous for the United States because it loses reason”.

The declarations of German politicians are particularly acerbic, being deeply upset by the fact that the “alternative for Germany” party, which they accuse extremism, is qualified by Musk as hope and salvation for the Federal Republic of Germany.

Critics in Europe argue that this multimillionaire, at world interests ranging from the launch of satellites to artificial intelligence, now supports the right -wing nationalist parties and the figures which represent a fundamental challenge to European unity.

The American press believes that “money and information are the two tactical weapons of modern politics that Musk is able to use on unprecedented scales”.

It is notable that the panic caused within the European elites by the actions of Trump – which refused to exclude the use of force for a possible annexation of Greenland or the Panama Canal – practically paralyzed European leaders. Trump has also sworn to rename the Gulf of Mexico to the “American Gulf” and said that it could use “economic power” to transform Canada into 51ᵉ condition as part of the United States National Security issues. Unsurprisingly, European officials expressed themselves in a very timid way on “the inviolability of borders”.

Where Trump, who has not yet officially taken his presidential duties, cannot speak openly, Elon Musk does in a skillful manner. In this context, there is a significant increase in the popularity of Musk among European youth, which sees in it a real path to success thanks to the merger of power and capital.
