Those nostalgic for Dorothée Club meet this evening on TF1. A little less than 28 years after the end of the cult youth show on the front page (it ended on August 30, 1997), the channel decided to say Thank you Dorothy! during a special program combining archive images, secrets from loved ones, new content and covers of the singer and host’s cult hits.

Among the artists present this evening to pay tribute to the idol of the youngest is Amir who managed to surprise Dorothée by evoking in particular the important place she holds for her generation. “When I saw his reaction, I didn’t think he had been so affected,” Dorothée confesses to Parisian/Today in France. And the interpreter of I searched is not the only one to have been upset upon meeting Dorothée. “LOrie burst into tears as if she were 4 years old when she met me in rehearsals. It was too touching. When we made these shows, we had a responsibility towards our viewers, we were aware that we were playing a role. But nothing told us at the time that it would remain as important to our audiences so many years later. I receive this emotion in the heart, in the stomach”, adds Dorothée, specifying that her modesty pushes her to only let “shedding her tears off-air”.
