Plan B, Alerts et Completely high school received the Gémeaux for best series in their respective categories on Sunday at the Gala des 39es Gemini prize.

The fourth season of Plan Bwhich competed against, among others, Before the crash et FEMwon the Gémeaux for best drama series and its lead actor, Pier-Luc Funk, took home the award for best leading actor: drama series.

At the Opening Gala in the afternoon, the director of Plan BJean-François Asselin, was decorated for this other strong season. The latter also earned the Gémeau for best text with Jacques Drolet. Plan B (season 2) also won the Gémeaux for the production that has made the most impact abroad, awarded in collaboration with the Québecor Fund.

Styling in particular Indefensible et 5e rangthe police series Alerts received the title of best annual drama series for a second consecutive year, this time for its fourth edition. In addition, one of its stars, Frédéric Pierre, accepted the trophy for best leading actor. Marie-Chantal Perron and Paul Ahmarani, who formed an unusual duo in the TVA series, were praised for their performances in a supporting role off-air.

The title of best comedy or drama went to the third season of Completely high schoolwho faced in the same category The candidate et Leo.

In terms of performances, in addition to the awards already mentioned, we should point out that Marilyn Castonguay added to her collection the award for best leading actress: drama series in the final season of This is how I love you and Noémie O’Farrell, from Witcheswon the Gémeaux for best leading actress: annual drama series. She was nominated alongside her comrades Céline Bonnier and Marie-Joanne Boucher, all three creators of Witches.

Witcheswhich was the most nominated production — 15 times — with Before the crash et This is how I love youwas also decorated via Germain Larochelle and Marie-Josée Ouellet for the prize for best text: annual dramatic series.

Led with talent and energy by Pierre-Yves Lord, the awards ceremony took place in the context of the abolition of controversial non-gender categories, in addition to being shunned by some of the most prolific producers, such as Fabienne Larouche, who had therefore not registered her daily STAT This year.



Jean-René Dufort, who has hosted “Infoman” for 25 years, went on stage to collect the award for best animation: humor for “Infoman, special end of year.”

The members of the Academy also praised the work of the animators Jean-René Dufort (Infoman, end of year special), France Beaudoin (Live from the Universe, New Year’s Day Special), Pierre-Yves Lord (100 geniuses), Marc Labrèche (I come to you), Sarahmée (They) and Joanie Lamoureux (Joanie’s Safari).

At the end of all the ceremonies presented over the last few days, it is the Bye Bye 2023 who emerged as the big winner with a total of six statuettes, ahead of This is how I love you (5) then Alerts, Club Soly, The MAMMOTH evening 2023, Lac-Mégantic: This is not an accident et Plan B (4).

Let’s emphasize that this is comedy Discussions with my parents which won the Prix Gémeaux du public Fonds Cogeco, an honour that comes at just the right time as the series draws to a close.
