Interviewed by the magazine GalaValérie Kaprisky made sad confidences about the painful ordeals she had to go through in recent years. Currently on stage in the play Family secret alongside Xavier Deluc, the 62-year-old actress revealed that she had lost her mother. A very hard time for her who took full care of her mother until her last days.
“For several years, before her passing, I took care of my mother who had a serious lung disease. I went back and forth to Cannes where she lived and where I grew up. I had sworn to her, at her request, that she would never go to a retirement home. I had to recreate a medical team around her. When you are a caregiver and find yourself confronted with illness, you feel helpless, you would like to do more“, she said.
That’s not all since the actress also had to go through the dreaded process of the 3 Ds. She thus separated from her husband afterwards.more than twenty years of living together“. The actress explains: “I experienced the three Ds: grief, divorce and moving in a very short time and fell into depression for two years. If I had died then, it wouldn’t have bothered me. Fortunately, I was surrounded by great friends. I believe a lot in mutual aid between women, in sorority“.

If she feels ready for love again, she is not ready to let him in under all conditions. “If I fall in love again, it will be everyone at home. It is important to escape routine to reinvent love every day. When I love, I tend to transform into a geisha, into a chameleon, to embrace the other’s universe. But, now that I have found myself, for the first time in my life, I want to put myself first. And I encourage all women to do the same!” she concluded.
