The return to childhood in the attic, the little trip to the local market, the brunch with fresh produce… Broadcast on France 2 since October 2022, “A Sunday in the Country” is based on rituals well anchored in the memory of its loyal viewers and the personalities who take part in the exercise. Michèle Bernier responded twice to Frédéric Lopez’s invitation and spoke freely about her trajectory which led her to become the respected actress of today. But before moving on to confidences, the former juror of “Mask Singer” was not always comfortable with the format of the show. Particularly when he was asked to row until he reached his haven of peace for two days of disconnection. “That’s the worst thing! I already told Frédéric Lopez: ‘Stop with this boat, it’s not possible!’ Especially since I did the first one where we were alone in the boat”, she confided to Eric Dussart, in “We are remaking TV” on RTL.
Cut during editing
Not really helping her in this boat, Michèle Bernier revealed that this introductory sequence had been cut during the editing of her first participation. “I got in the boat and I rowed backwards, I don’t know what the hell I did. In fact, I was going in circles. On the edge, there are I don’t know how many cameras and after a while they got tired of waiting, they all put the cameras down and said: ‘Okay, we have to go get her because we’ll never start there’“she remembered, hilarious. Her second sailing alongside the singer Sofia Essaïdi and the mentalist Fabien Olicard did not turn out to be any more glorious even though she was supposed to help the three hosts establish initial connections, as Eric Dussart recalled. “So, I don’t know if we really get to know each other.” laughed the heroine of “The Intern,” not really convinced by the idea.

The show canceled this January 12
This January 12, Frédéric Lopez’s Sunday meeting will take a backseat to make way for the third day of the 2025 edition of the Rugby Champions Cup. A new deprogramming to the detriment of a sporting event to which its very pragmatic presenter has become accustomed. “When I was offered this slot, I was warned that the show would not be broadcast every week because of sport“, he explained to our colleagues from “Télé-Loisirs”. “It’s part of the initial contract. Basically, it’s take it or leave it“, he added about this deal. Regular interruptions which do not prevent “A Sunday in the Country” from being a hit.
