The Dixie Chicks controversy

That day, continues Pamela Anderson, now 57 years old, her detractor was not talking about the actress, but about one of the members of the Dixie Chicks, a female country group from Texas. In the early 2000s, singer Natalie Maines was the target of controversy after criticizing George W. Bush, then President of the United States, for his decisive role in the invasion of Iraq in 2003. During a concert in London, the musician declared: “We do not want this war, this violence, and we are ashamed that the President of the United States comes (also) from Texas.” Words which were then used as a symbol of “anti-Americanism”, arousing the anger of many citizens and thus causing the decline of the music group.

If Pamela admitted that it was a “minor incident”, the man not having physically attacked her, she nevertheless admitted to having been “afraid to take a plane” for a while.
