Franco-Moroccan actor Saïd Taghmaoui published recent videos on his social networks to show the extent of the fires in Los Angeles, where he lost his house.
“We are still a little traumatized. A bit much! Without adding fuel to the fire, and without making sordid puns, we went through hell. I tried to stay as much as possible to save what I could. But my whole neighborhood went up in smoke, my house too. I managed to save a few things, including a car and a couple of things. But above all I managed to save my life,” he said.
In California, Saïd Taghmaoui describes “the apocalypse”. According to him, the situation “is increasingly critical, almost uncontrollable, with a perfect correlation between the powerful winds and the flames of hell.” “The winds are so powerful that they spread the fire through the embers, in all directions starting other fires and spreading enormous quantities of unbreathable toxic smoke everywhere, like a tornado from hell, preventing everything plane to take off and making any help impossible…” added the actor.
-In another publication, Saïd Taghmaoui posted images of ruined homes and charred cars online. “The damage is considerable, I never thought I would see this in my lifetime and no one can do anything about it,” he said.
Since January 7, 2025 with the start of the fires in Los Angeles, at least 10 people have died. According to the latest provisional assessment, more than 13,750 hectares went up in smoke and more than 180,000 residents were evacuated.
