A sort of feminine Columbo. Elsbeth, the new TF1 series, arrives on our screens from Wednesday January 8, 2025, from 9:10 p.m. Its heroine is not unknown to the general public. Indeed, the character of Elsbeth Tascioni appeared in two American television series by Robert and Michelle King: The good wife and The good fight. Carrie Preston reprises her role as an eccentric and colorful lawyer in this spin-off dedicated to her. The Chicago lawyer is sent to New York by the Department of Justice to observe the investigations carried out by the Sensitive Cases unit of the local police. But her rather active than passive character, her keen sense of observation, her infallible flair, make her an outstanding investigator.
Carrie Preston takes on this role with great dynamism. The 57-year-old actress is known for having played in several films, the latest of which is Winter Break (2023) by Alexander Payne, and in numerous series, mainly in True Blood (2008-2014). She also appeared in Person of Interest where she plays the character of Grace Hendricks, fiancée of the billionaire and mysterious Harold Finch, played by Michael Emerson… who is none other than Carrie Preston’s husband in the city.
