John Capodice is no more. The American actor died this Monday, December 30 at the age of 83. He notably appeared in the series “New York, judicial police”, or in the comedy “Ace Ventura”, alongside Jim Carrey.
Capodice was “a devoted husband, father and grandfather who will be missed by all who had the pleasure of meeting him,” regretted the New Jersey funeral home, which announced his death, in comments reported by Deadline. The causes of his death have not been revealed.
Born in 1941 and a soldier in Korea in the 1960s, John Capodice had cut his teeth in cinema and television in supporting roles. His first major role, in the series “Ryan's Hope”, allowed him to land his place in the soap opera “General Hospital”.
John Capodice had created a small reputation for himself before appearing in the sitcom “Seinfeld”, but also in several successful dramas such as “At the White House” and “Six Feet Under”, as well as in the detective series “New York, Judicial Police.”
In the cinema, John Capodice played in two Oliver Stone films, “Wall Street” then “The Doors”, but also and above all alongside Jim Carrey in the comedy “Ace Ventura, Cat and Dog Detective”. His last notable appearance on screen remains an episode of “Monk”, broadcast in 2008.
