He is not ready to “let it go”: after having given, Saturday December 21, 2024, the 131st and last date of his tour In my ropesRenaud gave an interview to Le Parisien in which he discussed his numerous artistic projects and his (soon) fifty-year career…
A “difficult to release” album
Regretting having ended his tour at the Deauville casino, “the smallest room of my career with the very first, La pizza du Marais”, the 72-year-old singer confides above all dreading “the after”: “I have the 'feeling of losing something…a team'.
A team that he is not really leaving since it is the one with which he is preparing his 17th album, “with violins, piano and accordion”, which he would like to publish in early 2026: “I am working on it, but I'm having a little trouble, it's difficult to get out. Lack of inspiration,” he concedes.
Health and love regained
Don't see this as excessive fatigue, Renaud is proud of getting up “at 6 o'clock every morning” and of having regained his health, he who “quit alcohol three and a half years ago and cigarette a year and nine months ago.
Reminding that he will celebrate, in 2025, his 50th career, the singer confirms that in addition to “a beautiful book and a documentary” announced in September 2024, he will participate in “a party at the Francofolies in La Rochelle, a creation – the July 10, 2025 – with only new generation artists.”
Our “Renaud” file
Finally, he looks back on his marriage, last May, to Cerise, which “changed everything” in his life: “it was an unforgettable event, the most beautiful day of my life”.
