Kate Middleton and Prince William share their greeting card (and the photo is far from trivial!)

Tradition requires, Kate Middleton and Prince William shared a greeting card. And the photo they chose for this year 2024 is not insignificant.

After Prince Harry and Meghan Markle (revealing a rare photo of their children) two days ago, it’s the turn of the Prince and Princess of Wales to share their greeting card. Kate Middleton and Prince William published a video this Thursday, December 19, 2024, wishing everyone a happy holiday season. And the photo they chose is far from trivial.

After her treatment for cancer, the mother of George, Charlotte and Louis had resumed public appearances and official engagements, such as for Wimbledon or with the families of the victims of the Southport attack. She also made an impression (just like her son) during the Christmas concert. But the image today highlights that the year that has just passed was not like any other. Far from it…

Greeting card from Kate Middleton and Prince William

The year 2024 has been tough for the English royal family. King Charles III has revealed he has cancer, as has his daughter-in-law, the wife of his son Prince William. After numerous questions regarding his absence, the British discovered with astonishment in a video in March 2024 that Kate Middleton, aged only 42, suffered from this disease and was undergoing preventive chemotherapy treatment.

After long months of convalescence, the princess had gradually resumed her commitments. And it was in another video that she appeared with her family, her husband and their three children. Last September, these images staged by advertising executive Will Warr announced the end of his chemo. For their greeting card, the princely couple opted for a photo from this famous video, and it is not insignificant.

A cliché that means a lot

In the video announcing the end of Kate Middleton’s chemotherapy, we could see the five members of the tribe walking in the forest, playing or even hugging. A style far from the usual rigid images in a palace, in official outfits. After the trying year 2024 crossed, the Windsors wanted to refocus on their family, and this is precisely what their greeting card shows. They are united and seem to show that this is their priority. Placed on a white album which reads “Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year”, the photo is animated into a video with falling snowflakes and a fir tree in the background. A warm shot!

The heir to the throne, the eldest George, is 11 years old. His sister Charlotte is 9, and the youngest, Louis, is 6 years old. When announcing her illness, Kate Middleton spoke of her children and urged the public to respect their private lives. With Prince William, they would indeed have tried to protect the king’s three grandchildren as much as possiblesurely upset by the news.
