Comedian Math Duff will replace Sébastien Benoît, Isabelle Racicot and José Gaudet on Rythme’s return show from January, according to sources close to the matter.
The ax falls again on a Cogeco radio station. This time, it was the trio of hosts composed of Sébastien Benoît, Isabelle Racicot and José Gaudet who were fired after three and a half years at the helm of the homecoming show.
They will be replaced by comedian Math Duff and his co-host Marjorie Vallée, according to our sources.
The host, actor and jack-of-all-trades joined the Rythme team last June by hosting the return show during the summer with the same sidekick.
A month in secret
Sébastien Benoît, Isabelle Racicot and José Gaudet announced their departure to their listeners on Monday at the start of their show It’s 4 o’clock somewhereinsisting that they knew, for a while, that the show was going to end this week.
“We’ve known for a month. It’s a mourning that we’ve been experiencing for a month,” confided Isabelle Racicot.

“It was a gift for us, this core brought us so much happiness,” added Josée Gaudet who will continue her tour of shows.

Ironically, this Wednesday will mark both their 500th and final broadcast.
“I made friends for life,” said Sébastien Benoît.

Sébastien Benoît and Isabelle Racicot are not leaving the station. The first will return in January in a weekday afternoon show and Isabelle Racicot will join Patrick Marsolais and Anaïs Favron in the morning.
This is not the first upheaval that has occurred at Cogego radio stations in recent months.
After MC Gilles last April and Pierre-Yves McSween on July 23 at 98.5, we learned, in August 2024, that host Maripier Morin was going to replace Patricia Paquin on the airwaves of Rythme 105.7 on the show lunch with Marie-Ève Janvier.
