Twenty years of film photography. From black and white to refined aesthetics. Keivan Cadinouche, photographer says: “I’m basically a painter.” Except that due to lack of outlets, “I chose a more traditional path, that of marketing. By working in advertising, I told myself that I could always continue to be creative”. When he discovered film photography, he threw himself completely into this art.
This does not prevent him from collaborating with painters, including Davi and Patrick Ricco. “I came back to my first love.” By painting directly with acrylic on monochrome silver prints.
An overview of this development was given over the past week. It was during a one-night pop-up exhibition. While waiting for a longer exhibition in 2025. The series presented is entitled Born in Moris. It shows iconic photos of Mauritius taken at various times. Their common point: they show elements, “that all Mauritians recognize as the dodo savate” that the photographer reinterpreted with his brushes.
