Lola Dewaere is back on screen, since November 8, in the fifth season of the detective series
Astrid et Raphaëlle. Daughter of actor Patrick Dewaere, she seems to follow in his footsteps… However, the actress did not really know her father. The latter committed suicide when she was only three years old. In the columns of
LiberationLola Dewaere recalls some memories she has left of him.
His father was a man who could easily get angry. An anger that she never understood, until the day she was diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, also called ADHD. “I finally understood my concentration problems, the inability to do two things at the same time, the outbursts of anger too, like those of my father”she explains.
Lola Dewaere: “I was very scared”
When she was little, she accidentally dropped a bottle of lemonade on the floor. A stupidity which did not escape Patrick Dewaere. “I’m barely 3 years old. My father scolds me for the first time. I can still hear his anger. I was very scared“, she remembers.
“I also remember a great vacation in Guadeloupe with Coluche with his sons”she adds. In the documentary

Lola Dewaere: the rare memories of her father
“Mom called you. You talked to each other, she told you thatshe couldn't take the drugs anymoreof all that… And then you guessed for her and Coluche“she specifies. On July 16, 1982, Partrick Dewaere took action. Since this tragic event, his mother has been drowning in the debts he left behind. At the age of 12, Lola Dewaere was taken to live with his grandparents.
Today, Lola Dewaere has practically nothing left that belonged to her father. “When my father left, the photos, objects, travel souvenirs, musical instruments, clothes…
were looted by my parents' friends, the family… everyone snatched a memory… and often it was not to have a memory, it was more dishonest, more twisted”confided the 45-year-old actress on her Instagram account.
