The accident occurred on the third day of the trip to Ivory Coast, while the candidates were in a heavenly setting. “The edge is tucked into its heel, not horizontally but vertically. It was necessary to cut, take out the edge and make stitches“, explained Frédéric Gilbert, president of the Miss France company, in The Buzz TVs. This injury not only affected Marine Futol physically, but also her preparation. She had to limit her participation in certain activities, as Frédéric Gilbert explained: “There were activities she was unable to do. But above all, you are in 12 centimeter heels on the prime. She unfortunately did a lot of rehearsals without heels.”
