PORTRAIT – The 26-year-old journalist hopes to bring a 17th title to her region by winning the crown at Futuroscope on December 14.
From the height of his 76 meter, Julie Dupontoriginally from Puteaux, won the Miss Île-de-France 2024 sash for Miss France last October 12. If the young woman was registered by a colleague, it was not her first experience in a beauty contest. In 2022, she was, in fact, first runner-up to Miss Hauts-de-Seine. She wears an afro which she is very proud of. “I want to show myself as I am with my natural hair type. It’s super important for me to do it and I only have positive feedback”she declared in an interview on BFM Paris.
An investigative journalist, as she defines herself, she completed a master's degree in investigative journalism and image reporting. During her studies, she even approached the President of the Republic. “ For a 26-minute format as part of my master 2, I asked a question to Emmanuel Macron who returned to the field for the one year anniversary of the Alex storm. He answered me very well. Afterwards, he is a president, so his response was obviously very smooth. But I got a good grade on my assignment”she confided to Leisure TV .

Passionate about her job, she has a role model: “I go on set, I do the editing, I lay down the voice. Élise Lucet is an example for me. She is a strong woman who dares. I want to denounce things, meet new people, tell stories…”she says in her portrait.
If she is elected, she would like to defend several causes including diversity in the media but also the fight against fast fashion. “I favor second hand, made in France and, if I am elected, I would like to show that we can be stylish while respecting the planet”she continues in her portrait.
