Bruce Toussaint discusses the beginnings…

This Sunday, December 8, Bruce Toussaint took stock of his morning, Bonjour!, in the columns of Le Parisien.

On January 8, Bruce Toussaint launched a new morning show on TF1 with his team of columnists.

Despite timid beginnings, the show has evolved thanks to strategic recruitments like Alba Ventura and Paul Larrouturou.

With an increasing audience, Bruce Toussaint aims to place Bonjour in the top 3 French morning shows.

It was on January 8 that Bruce Toussaint and his band of columnists set up on a brand new set, in order to give a major meeting to TF1 viewers. The first French channel has in fact created its morning show, with the former BFMTV journalist at the helm.

A risky bet, but a challenge that motivated the first person concerned, convinced of the potential of this new project. Without a morning show before that, TF1 immediately showed its ambition: to be part of the top 3 morning shows in . Knowing that the morning shows of France 2, BFMTV and Cnews are very well established, and have been for years.

A timid start, but a definite evolution for Bruce Toussaint's morning show

Like most projects that are launched, the beginnings of Bonjour! were timid, and could have discouraged Bruce Toussaint's team. However, this was not the case, since they instead thought about a way to get audiences off the ground using a few changes and recruitment.

Indeed, the editorialist Alba Ventura and the reporter Paul Larrouturou arrived at the start of the morning, and the results showed a good evolution. Bruce Toussaint explained this subject in the columns of Le Parisien : “To be honest, we started talking with Alba Ventura before the announcement of the dissolution (of the National Assembly) but her arrival is very important because, with her cheekiness and her outspokenness, she is one of the best editorialists in France But the main thing is to have installed all our columnists, to have made them characters in appointments fixed to the second. he explained.

The top 3 soon available for Bonjour!

The figures have therefore evolved significantly. Every morning in November, Bruce Toussaint woke up 305,000 viewers (9.5% of the public) on TF1. This is almost 50,000 more than last February. To reach the top 3 of the best morning shows in France, Bonjour must obtain 10% audience share (PDA).

This is what Bruce Toussaint is setting for December : “This is a first major step because the French rarely skip the morning. We have installed the show for several decades,” explained the host before giving his new ambition: “to be the second morning show in France”. However, it has a caveat since, as explained : “I start with an empty room since, unlike our competitors, TF 1 does not have a pre-morning show. My locomotive is Barbapapa, broadcast just before on TFOU. And obviously, children fond of cartoons do not stay when we comes on air”, he explained.
