Julie Pietri returned to her cancer diagnosis in It starts todaythis Friday, December 6. To cope with the illness, she was able to count on the support of her daughter Manon.

A long fight! In February 2023, Julie Pietri played the transparency card and announced to her fans that she had endometrial cancer. “I owe you the truth, I'll tell you, because we're not going to see each other for a while. At least for two months, before I come back on stage and talk to you a little more casually…”, she revealed to them in a video posted on social networks. She has since been able to give reassuring news of her health and even return to the stage. She took the opportunity to relaunch the promotion of her latest album, Origami.

Julie Pietri chose to talk again about her fight against illness in It starts todayFaustine Bollaert's daily show, this Friday, December 6. The host was indeed interested in celebrities who chose not to hide their illness. Julie Pietri was notably alongside Pascal Bataille, who spoke for the first time about his fight against lung cancer. The star singer of the 80s returned to her concerns upon learning of her diagnosis which turned out to be more serious than expected. She knew she had to have a hysterectomy, the operation was scheduled and she was ready to face this procedure, remaining confident for the future. Unfortunately for her, everything did not go as planned. The doctor ultimately didn't operate on her.. “So even though I'm strong, I say to myself, wow, what's happening. He says to me 'When I opened it I found cells that I didn't like on the peritoneum. There is suspicion of extension of the cancer to the peritoneum. So there, I'm starting to tilt and be a little less warlike”said Julie Pietri. The doctor then told her that she would have to stop everything for more than a year and undergo chemo for more than six months, then radiotherapy.

During this ordeal, Julie Pietri was able to count on the support of her family and especially her daughter. “My daughter comes into the room, I tell her 'Manon, it's a disaster. Maybe I have an extension. She tells me 'Mom, we'll do whatever it takes, we're here'. I tell him 'Manon, that means I'm going to lose my hair, I'm no longer going to work, I'm going to have very long chemo'. There I begin to fall”, she continued her story. Her daughter reassured her by telling her that she would be “forte” with her and took matters into his own hands. “She was super nice and super strong, I was staggering at the time,” recalled Julie Pietri. It was finally on March 7, 2024 that the singer underwent her hysterotomy. “I wasn't feeling well at all.”she stressed. It was thanks to the support of a psychologist that she overcame this new ordeal.
