Guest of the show “Conversations”, actress and director Aure Atika is currently starring in the film The Panache directed by Jennifer Devoldère. In this dramatic comedy adapted from the play In Cyrano's Skin by Nicolas Devort, a stuttering middle school student discovers theater classes through his French teacher Monsieur Devarseau, played by José Garcia. Aure Atika plays the role of Giulia, the mother of young Colin, played by Joachim Arseguel. She explains the impact “as a mother” of her meeting with him: “I was able to see what stuttering can cause as a parent.” She also looks back on her reading of the script which touched her. “The story was very well written and when I read it, I cried,” she confides.
Career and family
Throughout the show, Aure Atika also talks about her passion for her profession as an actress, which she considers to be a “craft”, particularly through “the preparation work.” “We are our own tool: me, my body, my face, the voice, the energy, the rhythm (…), the way in which we approach the text,” she explains.
