Famous Russian actress, influencer dies swept away by waves while doing yoga on a rock

A huge wave swept away the 24-year-old young woman who was relaxing at the edge of the visibly too rough sea.

Facing the raging sea, Russian influencer and actress Kamilla Belyatskaya found, on a rock, a place conducive to meditation. At least, that's what she hoped. But on this day, on the picturesque island of Koh Samui, Thailand, the waves were particularly high, exceeding 2.70m.

And while she took out her mat to do yoga on this rock overlooking the sea, CCTV cameras captured the terrifying scene when a huge wave engulfed the 24-year-old.

In the videos, Kamilla Belyatskaya is seen struggling to keep her head above water but quickly disappears beneath the surface near her pink yoga mat floating on the raging sea.

A man threw himself into the sea in vain

According to the media reporting the tragedy, a man dove in to help her but he could not save her. As for the rescue services, the huge waves did not allow them to reach the victim in time.

Her body was eventually washed ashore almost 3 kilometers from where she drowned.

Kamilla Belyatskaya therefore died a few days before her wedding. Present on the island, her fiancé, Grigorii Anokhim, learned the news on social networks. “She had told me she was going to play tennis, but I didn't know she had come to relax at Lad Koh viewpoint,” he told local media. “I only found out about what happened on social media. I was devastated and immediately went there to help with the search.”

Originally from Siberia, Kamilla Belyatskaya had published, a few days before the tragedy, a message describing “this place, this rocky beach” as “the most beautiful thing I have ever seen in my life”.
