Malik Bentalha recently spoke about the difficulty of being Muslim in France. Reminiscence on his sketch on Pascal Praud on CNews…
Malik Bentalha was recently interviewed on the CKO podcast. The opportunity for him to set the record straight, dot the i's and cross the t's. He mentions in particular a subject that touches him: his practice of religion. He mentions in particular the fact that it is difficult to be Muslim in France today. “At one point, I was watching, I came across CNews, there was a topic on Muslims, I skip BFM, topic on Muslims…no matter what happens. Wembanyama who has bad stats is because of Islam.”regrets the one who will do a sketch targeted on Pascal Praud…
Malilk Bentalha does not mince his words on CNews and BFMTV
Despite the criticism, Malik Bentalha, accused of being a “docile Arab”, defended himself as best he could. He thus justified his political choice through this video in which he renamed L'heure des pros in the hour too much on TNews and not CNews. In this video, he wears a headgear which immediately refers to its quality
“d’expert” of the Muslim question. A sketch which, in short, did not amuse everyone. The idea for him was to
denounce “this kind of show [qui] advocate division, hatred, homophobiaxenophobia”. So many things “to vomit for me”said the comedian revealed in the Jamel Comedy Club at the Est Républicain.
Pascal Praud touched by his caricature: “It made me laugh, but…”
“Through this video, I wanted to make people laugh like my masters, Les Inconnus, as they can do through their parodies of news or politicians. That was really my compass in writing,” Malik Bentalha had said. This, at the risk of alienating Pascal Praud. He had also responded following the controversy generated by this sketch in which he was mocked. “The beginning of the parody, with Sardou’s song, made me laughhe admitted. The rest is a caricature. But, honestly, it's not bad.”. No hard feelings, therefore, for the emeritus presenter of L’Heure des pros. The very one who was scandalized by the “incorrect sexuality” supposed to be from Lucie Castets.
Malik Bentalha advocates freedom of expression
“Afterwards, as always, I regret the over-instrumentalization of this sketch on social networks, continued the one that Malik Bentalha wanted to parody at Le Parisien.
I'm made to look like a reactionary when I'm more of an anarchist. I love freedom above all else.”. For his part, the comedian admits that he doesn't please everyone. But he says he is happy to be able to practice his profession with a certain form of freedom.
“We are not in North Korea, there is still freedom of expression! Anyone who is not happy, they skip, they change or they do not look. I do it for my audience and when I do, it is never with malice or vulgarity”.
