Summer holidays will finally be able to begin for all schoolchildren. While some are already on vacation, others are living their last days at school before a well-deserved summer break. George, 10, Charlotte, 9, and Louis, 6 are among them. The three children of Kate Middleton and Prince William will be able to put aside their lessons for a while to reunite with their parents and enjoy family time.

Especially since Kate Middleton is battling cancer, the family needs more than ever to rest, stick together and support each other through this ordeal. So far, the Welsh clan has shown exemplary courage and unity, Trooping the Colour was the perfect proof, with Kate making a surprise return.

But this time, it is not at Anmer Hall, the residence very close to the beach where they usually stage themselves for family celebrations that they will spend all their holidays. Despite conditions somewhat different from other years, Kate, William and the children are not breaking the family tradition: that of spending summer holidays on Balmoral Estate in Scotlandthe very place where on September 8, 2022, Elizabeth II took her last breath and began the long procession of her final journey under the eyes of the many royal fans.

The death of Queen Elizabeth II is not the only notable event in the history of the royal family that Balmoral has been the scene of. King Charles notably spent his honeymoon there with Diana first, then with Camilla Parker-Bowles. During the Covid-19 pandemic, it was also on these Scottish lands that the Prince and Princess of Wales, who they still were at the time, spent a few weeks.

Balmoral, Elizabeth II’s favourite residence

While each family in the British royal clan has its own residence, every summer, it is in the heart of Balmoral that everyone meets. The death of Queen Elizabeth II, who loved this place steeped in history more than ever, as well as the cancers of Kate and Charles III have not changed anything in the tradition.

This is why Kate Middleton, Prince William and the children will be going there this summer. They will be able to enjoy the immense estate and the cottages made available to the family. In total, there are no less than 150 buildings that make up Balmoralas specified by the site AD Magazine. George, Charlotte and Louis will also have the luxury of being able to exercise outside since 20,000 hectares surround the property. Oak woods, flowerbeds, vegetable garden, water gardennot far from the mountains and a river… Perfect conditions for nature lovers.

In addition to finding themselves in the middle of nowhere enjoying the fresh air and calm of the Scottish countryside, Kate and William will be able to spend tender moments with their children, but also and above all in the company of the other members of the family, who should also make a detour to the estate, as tradition requires.
