Prince Albert II of Monaco and Princess Charlene kicked off the Christmas festivities this Saturday, setting off the illuminations from Place du Palais. The princely couple left the honor to their twins, hereditary Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella, to spread the magic of Christmas in the Principality.

The magic of Christmas comes to Monaco thanks to hereditary Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella
Every year, the princely couple is responsible for plunging the Principality into the Christmas atmosphere. This Saturday, November 30, 2024, Prince Albert II, 66, and Princess Charlene, 46, kicked off the Christmas lights from Place du Palais. It was their twins who had the privilege of pressing the button. Present were Camille Gottlieb, daughter of Princess Stéphanie, and Mélanie-Antoinette de Massy, granddaughter of Princess Antoinette.

Hereditary Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella, who will celebrate their 10th birthday in ten days, pressed the golden button which instantly triggered the illuminations. After lighting the princely palace, the family went to the Place du Casino to set off the illuminations. The twins were once again invited to press the golden button, in the presence of elected officials from Monaco town hall, as well as Minister of State Didier Guillaume.

Light projections brought life to the Casino, accompanying the dazzling 18-metre fir tree which stood in the center of the square. Gigantic snow globes added to the ambient magic. Each snow globe tells a little story. Hereditary Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella enjoyed this sumptuous outdoor spectacle. In the days to come, Place du Casino will also welcome Santa Claus.
