Calogero did not fail to share his anger at the use of one of his songs by Jordan Bardella.

He returns with a brand new album. Calogero unveiled his 10th opus, entitled X. Among the subjects covered in his unreleased songs are education and the school system. Very touched by these two subjects, the musician spoke with a certain emotion about the writing of this album.

Calogero comes out of his hinges

With kindness, Calogero wanted to discuss subjects that particularly affect him: “Even if today I support the teachers, I know to what extent many of us did not conform to this rigid grading system, which depending on the sensitivity and personality of each person, did not allow at all to presage what our future adult lives would be like. Mbut then if there is one thing that the guitarist hatesis that his songs are used for causes he doesn't believe in. So when he realizes that Jordan Bardella, who confided in his private life, used his chanson
1987 during a meeting for the European elections,
the singer will come off his hinges.

Singer threatens Jordan Bardella with legal action

On his social networks, he will then publish an official press release in which he shares his anger. “I was scandalized to learn yesterday, Sunday June 2, that my song 1987 was broadcast at the end of the National Rally meeting at the Dôme de . At no time have I given any authorization to broadcast my music there. I affirm that I would never have given it”he writes. And Calogero does not forget to remind that “my songs are not made for the political framework, they belong to the public and only to the public.
I am strongly opposed to my music being co-opted by any party.”
And he is not the only one to deplore the use of this music.

“A serious attack on our moral rights”

Indeed, the writer of the text of 1987 also deplored this political recovery: “Paul Ecole, author of the text 1987 and I, deplore a serious violation of our moral rights since my work is associated with political discourse. I reserve the right to take any legal action in this matter.”
Thus, Calogero does not hesitate to go out of his depth when one of his songs is used for projects in which he does not believe. And when projects particularly affect him, the singer does not hesitate to give of himself. A clarification which had the merit of being very (very clear).
