On December 14, 30 regional Misses will compete during of the national beauty queen competition. This year again, Jean-Pierre Foucault will host this evening, broadcast live and organized at the Aréna du Futuroscope. Sylvie Vartan will thus be president of the jury.
The singer will be accompanied by Marie-José Pérec, Cristina Cordula, Fauve Hautot, Nawell Madani, Flora Coquerel and the pianist Khatia Buniatishvili. For the second year in a row, the jury is therefore 100% female. But now this decision to only put women among the jurors,
poses a problem for journalist Pascal Praud.
Pascal Praud not delighted to see a 100% female jury for the Miss France
This Thursday, November 28, 2024, he received Jean-Pierre Foucault on the airwaves of Europe 1 and then asked the presenter's opinion on this female jury. “What do you think? Excuse me for being a man Jean-Pierre Foucault…”, he says, thus showing his dissatisfaction. “I think it’s quite remarkable. It happened once and the young women who will be on this jury will be able to decide, judge and place a crown on the head of the one who will be Miss France 2025 for a year. It’s not bad, right?”replied Jean-Pierre Foucault.
But apparently, Pascal Praud is not really of this opinion. But Pascal Praud did not stop there. “Of course, but when I say excuse me for being a man, I’m a boy, I find that there’s a bit of discrimination if you allow me,” retorted the journalist.
Jean-Pierre Foucault does not at all share this opinion
But his guest is not of this opinion: “I don't think so,
I think you are wrong. Now, if you insist, I can possibly intervene so that you are part of the jury… But I think you would stand out among all these beautiful young women”he concluded, making Pascal Praud laugh.
It therefore seems that the two men cannot come to an agreement. But whatever Pascal Praud's opinion, this year the jury will once again be 100% female. Viewers will thus be able to find these personalities, whose role will be to name the next Miss France, who will replace Eve Gilles.
