Diane Kruger has been in a relationship since 2016 with a famous American actor: Norman Reedus, met on the set of the film Sky. The two actors are the parents of a little girl: Nova Tennessee, born in 2018.
“It’s a 100% pure joy. I never tell myself that I regret staying home for take care of her or not be able to go to a party.” confides the actress.
In an interview for ELLEthe mother confided in her daughter, who is now 6 years old. Its particularity? She is immersed daily in the world of cinema,
especially with his father, an actor in The Walking Dead. “At 30, I don't think I would have not been ready to sacrifice myself for a child.“ explains the 48-year-old actress.
Confidences about his daughter
Their daughter, Nova, never fails to visit filming locations of his parents, notably Norman Reedus on the set of the famous zombie series. “She follows her father on his family. She has already been on the set of The Walking Dead among the zombies, but she wasn't afraid. For her, it was Halloween!“ she confides.
The little girl doesn’t yet understand her parents’ profession very well,”it's very abstract for her, and I'm not sure she wants to do this later. She’s at the age where you love animals and want to become a veterinarian.” Nova definitely doesn't have the same childhood as everyone else, or even Diane Kruger. “I have a
very different childhood of his. Until I was 13, I grew up in a very small village, in the countryside. I didn't travel much.”
Her daughter travels a lot
For Diane Kruger, it is important that her daughter
discover the world. “Elle changes schools often, that's why we chose one
Montessori teaching. In this pedagogy,
life lessons and family come first. She went to school in Poland, Spain, Canada, she speaks English and German, and is learning French.”
The objective? “I try to open it to the world, to ensure thatshe is not afraid of others.” declares the mother who did not want children. “I didn't feel this necessity. Then, I wanted to have children, I lived with someone for 10 years, but it didn't happen. I told myself it would never happen, and then Nova came along. I was super happy to get it and very happy to have waited so long. I didn't realize how much a child takes over everything.”
