The Parisian reveals that from her cell, the influencer Poupette Kenza wrote a letter addressed to the investigating judge, adopting an introspective tone. “It’s time for me to change my life”she writes.
Released in August
Released from the Rouen remand center on October 31, Kenza Benchrif, still under judicial supervision and indicted for “organized gang extortion attempt” et “criminal association”wants to rebuild his life away from social networks.
At 24, this mother with millions of subscribers on TikTok and Snapchat deserted social networks, to devote herself to her role as a mother in the Loire Valley, far from Dubai. Not a single publication, not even a snapshot of her round belly as she was due to give birth, was published.
As revealed, Kenza Benchrif is accused of having solicited a henchman to extort 350,000 euros from her ex-agent Caroline, using threats and intimidation. According to our colleagues, it all started with a financial conflict: Kenza accused Caroline, who managed her partnerships, of having embezzled funds via a foreign account, an accusation denied by the latter.
She was arrested in July
Arrested in July, the influencer denied being behind the plan, initially blaming her husband. But in October, during interrogation, she admitted to being the author of the incriminating messages: “I’m the one who wrote these messages.” According to her, her husband asked her to take responsibility for “sacrifice”given her advanced pregnancy. Analysis of his phone revealed 141 exchanges with Éric O., the henchman, nicknamed “Hulk“.
Kenza assures that the intention was simply to put pressure, without violence. However, Éric O. would have exceeded the limits: in February, in front of Caroline's children's school, he threatened the couple, boasting of not “be afraid of killing” and showing explicit photos. The couple then informed the police, who arrested him, finding a grenade on him.
In the exchanges, she expresses her impatience: “I paid 25,000 euros just to be told to give the money back?” His lawyer, Me Jérémy Kalfon, defends a woman “isolated and in complete discomfort”who would have lost his lucidity. In detention, Kenza Benchrif seems to have taken a step back. “I sometimes confuse my character, in the constant exaggeration, with the real me.”she confessed.
