Until now head of the philatelic collections department, Monika Nowacka is taking over the management of heritage and exhibitions at the La Poste museum.
Its objective is to “ contribute to strengthening the reputation of the museum and developing innovative management of its heritage. Whether tangible or intangible, this postal heritage is unique, and my main ambition will be to bring it to life and transmit it, thanks to a program of exhibitions and a dynamic editorial approach. And thus make it visible and accessible to as many people as possible “, she explains.
According to the museum, the new director of heritage and collections “ will play a key role in the development of the museum project which aims to explore and promote the societal and cultural history of this universe, through proposals combining history and modernity ».

Monika Nowacka knows the museum very well, which she joined twenty years ago. For 13 years, she was responsible for the conservation of philatelic collections, before becoming head of this same department in 2017. She has, states the museum, “ played an important role in the collection management projects during the closure of the museum for work », particularly in the transfer and rearrangement of collections, and in the design of a new museography. For several years now, it has been managing collections collection, digitization and online campaigns. She was also part of the scientific curator of the museum’s permanent exhibition, “La Poste, l’ et le Timbre”, and curated and produced numerous temporary exhibitions, such as “At the cutting edge of art, an artist’s gesture” in 2021 or “Stamp books in the spirit of the times”, presented at the museum until October 13, 2025.

During her studies, Monika Nowacka specialized in printmaking, which she practiced at the School of Fine Arts in Compiègne and, from 2016 to 2017, at the Boulle school in . In 2017, she defended a thesis at Paris-Sorbonne University, on the creation of French postage stamps and under the direction of Marianne Grivel. She was also a member of the board of directors of the Art of Engraved Stamp association and founded the magazine Del. & Sculpof which she was the editor-in-chief. She has also written for numerous publications relating to stamp engraving as well as philatelic and specialist magazines.
