It is a program which was broadcast for the first time in December 2004 et imagined by Frédéric Lopez. In the program “Rendez-vous en terre stranger”, the latter sent 27 celebrities on the other side of the world. Objective: to meet almost inaccessible peoples and discover their ways of life so far from ours. Thus, Adriana Karembeu, Marianne James, Virginie Efira and even Kev Adams had the immense chance to participate in this unique adventure before Raphael of Casabianca takes over the reins of the program in 2019. This one already counts eight trips to his credit the last of which took place in 2022. That year, he took Tomer Sisley in the depths of Nepal.
On this occasion, the 50-year-old actor went to the high valleys of the province of Dolpoin the heart of the Himalayas. A journey, as for many, who transformed it and which will be broadcast this November 26 on France 2. In an interview given to TV Magazinethe partner of Sandra Silsey spoke about his experience rich in emotions far from his family.
“These people welcomed us with open arms, we shared unique moments. But when you have to leave, you know that there is a good chance that you will never see them again (…) it brings tears to your eyes.”indicated the father of two children. For him, there is no doubt, this trip offered him “an extraordinary life lesson“. “There is a before and an after” he concedes, even if the beginnings were not exactly simple.
Tomer Sisley in “Rendezvous in unknown land”: a difficult arrival in Nepal
After several hours of travel in different transports, the interpreter of Balthazar on TF1 tells Leisure TV what the adaptation was difficult. “I'm not the complaining type, I even adapt quite happily. But I won't hide from you that the beginnings were hard. The first nights, I woke up every hour and, above all, the altitude gave me a hell of a headache“book on the fiftieth anniversary. Result, “I notably have a selfie when I wake up where, I swear, my head is completely deformed ! In short, it was roots, but I adapted, and what joy!”.
However, Tomer Sisley took a while to agree to participate in the program. About fifteen years ago, Frédéric Lopez proposed to the star of Largo Winch to accompany him to the ends of the world but… “At the time, I was a very young father and leaving for two to three weeks was complicated” he confides. This time, he claims not to have “hesitated for a second“. Better yet… Tomer Sisley says with humor that “This time I just had to say to my children: 'You know what? Dad is leaving!‘”.
