Assia Roosz Tomenti : Yes, I was at work in a jewelry store owned by one of my friends. One day, Miss Lorraine's photographer comes by, tells me that I have the profile to participate in Miss France and asks me if I'm interested. I told him no at first. [Elle rit.] It wasn't something that appealed to me. Then we talked a lot and I said to myself that it still looked incredible so I gave it a go.
What arguments convinced you?
She told me that it was an opportunity to discover yourself from a new angle, to surpass yourself. Basically, I wasn't in my comfort zone so I really saw it as an opportunity to move forward in life.
You have set up your home cleaning business and you are a real estate agent in Luxembourg. How do you manage these two hats?
It's organization. I have a busy schedule with lots of colors but I manage to reconcile everything. For two or three years, there has been a crisis in real estate. For me, who is independent, I told myself that we had to find a solution. I asked myself what to do and I found that personal service suited my personality because I like to come into contact with people and be of service to them. I have a person who works with me because these are the beginnings of the company which is a year old and it is going really well.

You are the tallest candidate in the competition and, in the past, you have suffered ridicule because of your height…
It is a physical character that we do not choose, like a skin color or a hair type. I don't understand this kind of teasing and I suffered from it at school. I was given nicknames such as “the big why” or “the giraffe”. Now I take it with humor, it no longer affects me but it's true that at one point, when we enter adolescence and we tell ourselves that we are tall and that we don't have too many shapes, we wonder who we are and. Then, time passed and I realized that it was an advantage for me to be very tall, you only see me so I might as well take advantage of it! [Elle sourit.]
Do you have brothers and sisters? Is your family supportive?
I have two brothers, one older and a half-brother younger than me, he is like a brother to me. My family supports me a lot, they threw me two surprise parties last weekend for my departure, they gave me lots of gifts, opened a kitty for my trousseau… There was a mobilization at which I didn't expect at all. They are truly a huge support. I also do this adventure for them, so that they can be proud of me. They have glitter and tears in their eyes! [Elle rit.]
Do you have a secret passion?
Hiking! Every year, I go for one or two weeks with my family, we go hiking on this occasion and that's how I got a taste for it because before, I didn't like walking that much and by dint of Doing it, I told myself that it cleared the mind, that it was rejuvenating and relaxing.

Which stage of the preparation and election do you fear the most?
None ! I go there for the experience and discovery of Miss's world. For the moment, I'm stressing about none of the stages… Even if I'm not saying that it won't come!
Overall, are you confident about the next steps and the election in December?
Honestly, yes. In any case, I don't have any pressure stopping me from doing what I love.
Did you have the opportunity to speak to other misses before the official portrait shoot?
Yes, I met Miss Alsace, Miss Franche-Comté and Miss Bourgogne as part of a meeting with a partner. We ate together, we learned to discover each other. It was a little shy at first because it's all new, we didn't really know how to act but then it went very well. Then, I found Miss Alsace and I discovered Miss Champagne-Ardenne for a meeting between the misses of the Grand-Est. We went to the Royal Palace in Kirrwiller, it was a very festive atmosphere and we were more at ease!
If you are elected Miss France on December 14, who will you have your first thought for?
For my mother. She was always there for me. She lives in the Paris region, I slept at her house the day before this first day of preparation and she is my biggest support.
Do you often watch television?
I don't watch TV anymore but I used to watch it. I like it a lot It starts today with Faustine Bollaert and the testimonies in general. We feed off other people's stories. I sometimes watch the show on replay.
