A former yamakasi converts to pig farming

A former member of the Yamakasi, hero of the eponymous film released in 2001, left his stuntman's habit to raise pigs with his wife in Haute-.

A unique life journey. Guylain Boyeke, member of the Yamakasi collective who was featured in the film written by Luc Besson in 2001, literally changed his life.

Found by our colleagues from 3 Nouvelle-Aquitaine, the ex-stuntman converted to a pig breeder, alongside his wife, near (Haute-Vienne).

“It was important to be able to set up this project, to offer quality products for us, our children and also for the consumer,” explained the man who now takes care of around thirty pigs.

From refugee to the big screen

Now aged around fifty, Guylain Boyeke left his native Democratic Republic of Congo before he was 10, before becoming a foster child in France.

He is one of the founding members of the Yamakasi, at the origin of parkour, this discipline which emerged in the 90s. He played the character of “Rocket” in the film Yamakasi: The Samurai of Modern Times.

Still at France 3 Nouvelle-Aquitaine, the man with a special destiny recalled being approached by Luc Besson.

“In his huge office, he asks me: 'Yamakasi, you're going to do me a favor. You're going to star in Taxi 2, playing Ninjas. Wow! At that time, I couldn't read or write. Incredible! », the pig farmer said since 2020.
