Leonardo DiCaprio snubbed the traditional Fijian reception in a video, a move many deemed “disrespectful.”
After celebrating his 50th birthday in Fiji with a lavish party, Leonardo DiCaprio attracted heavy criticism on social media after skipping a traditional Fijian farewell ceremony while leaving a hotel in Nadi on the main island.
In a video posted on TikTok, the Hollywood actor appears to make a phone call while walking through the lobby of the establishment, while staff are lined up to perform a traditional farewell song. Rather than stopping to say hello, the “Titanic” star bowed his head and hurried toward a waiting car.

Many Internet users denounced a lack of respect, not only towards employees, but also towards the country's traditions. “Leonard – He should have saluted the Fiji welcome party,” said one critic on X, while another commented: “He should have at least saluted the welcome our country gave him. There's no place like Fiji.
This trip followed a memorable birthday party, bringing together 500 prestigious guests, including Brad Pitt and Steven Spielberg.
