It’s a comeback that his fans have been eagerly awaiting. A few months after publishing his autobiography Best albumDavid Hallyday returns with a new album, Requiem for a fool, released on June 21. A name which inevitably reminds us of his father, Johnny Hallyday, who left us on December 5, 2017, but which continues to influence the 57-year-old artist. Through this new work, the father of three children, Ilona (1995), Emma (1997), both born from his past marriage to Estelle Lefébure, and Cameron (2004), born from his love for his wife Alexandra Pastor, makes mixing his own songs with those of his late father. Among the hits, we find among others Something from Tennesseeor even his greatest personal success, You didn’t give me timebut also the famous duo between father and son, Blood for blood.

In the middle of his tubes, we also find Laurathe song that Johnny Hallyday dedicated to his daughter, Laura Smet. A declaration of love from a father for his daughter, which David Hallyday covered, which visibly moved the singer’s sister a lot. She was very moved. She listened and it wasn’t completely finished yet (the song, editor’s note), but she wanted to listen to it. Me, I don’t like to listen when it’s not finished. It’s like looking at a painting that’s not finished, you can’t savor all the stuff.”tells Sylvie Vartan’s son in the new episode of our format In private with.

David would like to bring Laura on stage

Faced with his sister’s insistence, David Hallyday ended up making her listen to the song written and composed by Jean-Jacques Goldman for his friend Johnny Hallyday. “I made her listen to it and she was super moved and so, obviously, me too, because I can only think of her while making this song. It was important for me to succeed and for her to be the first to be happy because it’s her song.”he explains.

David Hallyday, whose mother is Sylvie Vartan) and Laura Smet – whose mother is Nathalie Baye, have been very united in recent years and Estelle Lefébure’s ex could see himself collaborating with his sister. “On Laura for example (the song, editor’s note), she could sing with me. I’m thinking about it, but I don’t know yet in what form, but I would like very much”assures the artist, before revealing the beginning of a line of thought: On a live for exampleI would love to, if she feels like it, have her work on it. It would be great, I would love to do it, because it’s a song that is so close to her and that she cares about. I think it would make sense, for her to come and I would love to.”
