Russell Crowe has a reputation for being an unflappable actor during filming. However, there is one person who has managed to unsettle him… Ryan Gosling.

The legend

Russell Crowe is certainly one of the greatest actors in the film landscape, it’s hard to deny it. Moreover, the American can boast a solid reputation: that of being imperturbable on film sets. It was he himself who admitted it in an interview with GQ, echoing Gladiator, shot under the direction of Ridley Scott.

“I’m famous for not breaking my acting game, no matter what. Ridley (Scott) used to laugh about it. The Coliseum could have collapsed behind me and I’d have been going about my business. And then you have something like The Nice Guys coming along.

A functional duo

The Nice Guys is a film released in 2016, where Russell Crowe shares the poster with Ryan Gosling. The film tells the story of the association of a private detective and a henchman, responsible for finding a young woman and solving a murder, right in the 70s in Los Angeles. A much-loved, energetic and warm film, directed by Shane Black.

On the set of The Nice Guys, Russell Crowe and Ryan Gosling got along well. Perhaps even a little too much: Gosling managed to destabilize his partner and he is the only one to have succeeded.

I loved making this film. Ryan Gosling… Damn. Try working with this guy… There’s something about acting called “corpsing”, when you’re dying of laughter at inappropriate moments. That little bastard made me laugh all the time.

The result is certainly an appreciated film. On Allociné, the press gave it an average rating of 3.7 stars and the public 3.8 stars out of 5. “People love this film. I loved making this film,” Russell Crow added.
