The mythical and emblematic singer of La Perfecta was recalled by the divinity. Paulo Albin died in the morning at the Martinique University Hospital. He had been hospitalized there for several days in worrying condition.
Paulo Albin joined the group at the beginning of the 1970s. Very quickly, his inimitable and warm voice largely contributed to the success of the very popular musical group.
In 1981, the singer launched his first solo album with the support of Emmanuel Granier. The Vagabond title would further propel his career.
Both a crooner and ambianceur, Paulo Albin enjoyed strong recognition in the West Indian musical community. He inspired many singers including Stéphane Ravor for example.
“Paulo Albin, c'est la Perfecta et la Perfecta c'est Paulo Albin”
His tumultuous relationship with the Perfecta is made up of multiple separations and reconciliations. As he himself said: “Paulo Albin is the Perfecta and the Perfecta is Paulo Albin”.
A lifelong love that did not prevent him from creating Paulo Albin All Stars in 2015 before returning one last time at the turn of the 2020s.
Paulo Albin's life did not stop with music. A retired teacher, he was also a municipal councilor for the town of Robert.
