The Analog Chronicles will be on display until February 15, 2025 at 99 Cameras Museumlocated at Studio Harcourtin Paris.
This exhibition brings together five photographers – Mathias Depardon, Ismail Ferdous, Theo Giacometti, Gaia Squarci et Alessandro Silvestri – who photographed the summer of 2024 with five iconic cameras, manufactured between 1935 and 1964. These documentary photographers, renowned for their astute appreciation of today’s world, took on the challenge of creating a series that addresses the history of analog photography.
Mathias Depardon (Widelux F6), Ismail Ferdous (Contax 1), Théo Giacometti (Canon 7), Gaia Squarci (Nikon F) and Alessandro Silvestri (Kodak Retina 117) captured landscapes of southern Europe, swimming, playing, walking and intimate family moments, those simple and sweet moments that define summer. This project continues the tradition of professional photographers documenting their own lives as an artistic work, alongside their long-term commissions and projects on global issues.
Founded in 2023 by Federico Benincasa, the 99 Cameras museum offers an intimate look at the technical prowess of 20th century photography.
