The Olympic Games are fast approaching and the journey of the Olympic flame continues, currently between French Polynesia and Guadeloupe. It will end its journey on the symbolic date of July 14, 2024 in Paris. An arrival with great fanfare in which a number of artists will join. “I was chosen for the arrival of the flame in Paris”, announced Arielle Dombasle this Friday June 14, 2024 in Télématin. On set, we could hear the anthem she chose for the occasion. “It’s something I wrote about Beethoven’s seventh symphony,” she added. High-pitched voice and ceremonial notes of the occasion, viewers were able to discover the song which will inaugurate this important symbolic passage for France.

Arielle Dombasle then explained the intention behind this song: “It’s an anthem, it’s joy, it’s an ode to surpassing oneself, to athletic strength,” she detailed. The song is part of his new album Iconics, in which we can notably find his very pop title Barbiconic. As for the video for this anthem, “the medalists are women, because Iconics is an ode to women.” She took the opportunity to give a little history lesson to the viewers and guests present on set: “At the Olympic Games, it was very difficult for women. Mr. de Coubertin, the founder, said ‘we are not going to damage the Olympic Games with women’. It will indeed be necessary to let four editions pass (…)
