Jude Law regrets not having taken advantage of his physique a little more before he got older.
The 51-year-old actor admitted he used to try to avoid heartthrob roles early in his career but now regrets not making the most of them.
“I don’t feel like I’ve ever really played the role of the handsome guy, but some roles required a seductive energy,” he told DuJour magazine.
“I was trying to play up my appearance in my early 20s, and now that I’m flabby and bald, I regret not doing it.”
Throughout his career, the actor says he has strived to play roles where his appearance didn’t matter.
He added: “It’s satisfying not to have to play on that.”
This is no more evident than in his new role as Henry VIII in ‘Firebrand’ (‘The Queen’s Game’ in France), a film in which the star put a lot of effort into.
He explains: “It took me so long every morning to put on this huge suit and I wore it for the rest of the day. You can rehearse in jeans and a T-shirt, but when you show up in this huge suit, you realize you’re going to knock everyone over.”
