After the phenomenal success of Parasite in 2019 (from the Palme d'Or to 4 Oscars, including a formidable box office score), director Bong Joon-ho chose to adapt the book Mickey 7 d’Edward Ashtonwith a cast as golden as that ofOkay sur Netflix.
Robert Pattinson therefore plays poor Mickey, disposable employee of a space expedition during which humanity tries to colonize a hostile and icy planetaptly named Niflheim – icy world and kingdom of the dead from Norse mythology. And to achieve this, Mickey is chain killed and resurrectedat least until something doesn't go as planned.
If this makes you want it, that's normal: Mickey 17 is one of the most anticipated films for a long time, since he would have due to be released in spring 2024 before being pushed back to early 2025. And we are sorry to tell you that it was pushed back AGAIN.
MICKEY 17TH RELEASE DATE
Goodbye to the release date in January 2025, to make you forget the kilos of chocolate and end-of-year holiday hassles. Mickey 17 will now be released on April 16, 2025, three months later than expected.
But behind the sad news, there is a reassuring decision from the Warner Bros. studio. MICKEY 150 MILLION DOLLARS
Mickey 17 is no small feat for Warner Bros. With a blockbuster budget (150 million dollars)Bong Joon-ho plays in the big leagues, much more than with Snowpiercer (40 million and already a lot of snow) and Okay (50 million, even if released on Netflix). For comparison, The Batman with Robert Pattinson had cost 185-200 million, and Godzilla x Kong in the 130-150 million range.
Warner Bros. will inevitably work extra hard to sell this wacky sci-fi adventure, carried by Robert Pattinson, Naomi Ackie, Mark Ruffalo, Toni Collette et Steven Yeun.
In April 2025, Mickey 17 will notably face the film Minecraft (April 4 in the USA) and the adaptation of the horror video game Until Dawn (April 25 in the USA), knowing that the new Marvel, Thunderbolts*arrives at the very beginning of May. In a normal world, he would therefore have the way clear, and without effort a priori. But out of caution, we're not going to say anything.
