The end of October was a real horror for Spain, especially for the Valencia region. Touched by the storm DANAthe area was the victim of deadly floods. The latest human toll shows at least 217 deaths. A catastrophic scenario whose consequences could only be noted by Letizia and Felipe from Spain during their visit to the town of Paiporta this Sunday, November 3.
That day, the royal couple was accompanied by Pedro Sanchez, President of the Government and Carlos Mazon, President of the Autonomous Community of Valencia. The two men were the subject of insults and projectiles, accused by the population of the very poor management of the disaster. By their side, Letizia and Felipe have become collateral victimstaken to task and targeted by mud throws which were not intended for them.
This is how the anger, dismay and sadness of the victims was clearly communicated to them. An observation which was not without consequences.
Letizia and Felipe VI make the situation in Valencia their priority
This Tuesday, November 5, the magazine Point of view looks back on this very eventful visit and the next few days that the Spanish population, as well as Letizia and Felipe of Spain, will go through. The latter had a rather busy and precise schedule for the days to come, but too bad for what was planned. “If the King and Queen of Spain did not make the second visit which was planned to Chiva, a few kilometers from Paiporta, they put official activities on hold scheduled for the following days” we learn in the weekly.
Letizia therefore canceled an awards ceremony on behalf of the Spanish Food Safety and Nutrition Agency when Felipe When Felipe VI observed a minute of silence in memory of the victims. The speech he gave paid tribute to all the people mobilized to help the victims. And the commitment is such that “Felipe VI in fact decided to attend, the day after their trip, a crisis cell of the military emergency unit at the Torrejon de Ardoz air base.” Actions that the people affected by the disaster and who need support more than ever can surely applaud.
