In August 2023, Gérard Leclerc died after the crash of a tourist plane that he himself was piloting in Lavau-sur-Loire (Loire-Atlantique). The journalist and half-brother of singer Julien Clerc was 71 years old. He then left behind the former Europe 1 star Julie Leclerc, and their three children : the twins Antoine and Mathieu (born in 1982) and Charlotte (born in 1987). Since the tragedy, his widow has been rather discreet and it is very rare to hear from her.
But this Sunday, November 3, she came out of her reserve on the occasion of the new issue of Looking forward to Sunday (France 3) which did honor to Laurent Ruquier. Indeed, while the latter had the opportunity to retrace his entire journey, he was treated to several surprises from Michel Drucker, including the arrival of Maryse Gildas and Julie Leclerc. The two women were invited to sit on the red sofa to share their memories with Laurent Ruquier, whom they met on the radio. Julie Leclerc, who ended her career after 49 years on Europe 1 where she worked alongside him, then directed her first public outing since the death of her husband.
Thoughts for Gérard Leclerc in Can’t wait for Sunday
If there was no question of talking to him about Gérard Leclerc, Michel Drucker still wanted to pay tribute to him before Julie left via a photo of their couple. “I will end with a photo of Gérard Leclerc, because he also marked the history of our profession. As proof, there was the unanimous tribute from the entire political class when he left us“, recalled the host.
Although always very discreet, Julie Leclerc proved with her appearance on television that she was doing better. Because a few months ago, her friend Maryse Gildas assured that she no longer went out much. “I do what I can, I call her from time to time but at first it was difficult, she didn't want to see anyone. She sees very few people, it's too early“, she confided in At Jordan's on C8 last May. And added: “She goes, she lives“.
