An essential humorous figure in and beyond, Coluche made entire rooms laugh, in addition to his social commitment which led to the creation of “Restos du Coeur”. He unfortunately died young, at 42, following a motorcycle accident. This tragic event caused a lot of talk at the time and still continues today, with those close to Coluche not all agreeing on the causes of his disappearance.

This Saturday, November 2, Patrick Sébastien was the guest of the show “On refait la télé” on RTL, to promote his book “Le carnival des ambitious”. The opportunity for the singer to return to the death of his friend, whom he believes to have committed suicide. “This is a version that will annoy a lot of people. I simply assert nothing. I tell myself that at that moment, he is unhappy”, began Patrick Sébastien. “Moreover, Berri used it very well in Tchao Pantin to look deep into the eyes. He was on the drug. Breaking up with Véronique wasn't easy. His house had been burned down in Guadeloupe. Maybe a push from the handlebars, like that. [Patrick] Dewaere, his friend, had committed suicide some time before. I don't know him well enough to know. I just say to myself that why not, this incident which also has no logical explanation. I don't believe in political conspiracy at all. There was the cam. I think he was coming off heroin at the time. I think Dewaere got a little upset over that.”
